The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025. Rohit Sharma will captain the team, with Shubman Gill appointed as vice-captain.
Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been included, though his participation is contingent upon fitness assessments due to recent back spasms. Mohammed Shami returns to the ODI setup for the first time since the 2023 World Cup final, having recovered from ankle surgery.
The squad also features the return of spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who had been sidelined with a groin injury since October. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, omitted from the recent T20 series against England, reclaims his spot. Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal earns his maiden ODI call-up, potentially making his debut in the tournament.
India's Champions Trophy campaign kicks off on February 20 against Bangladesh in Dubai. The team is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
