India's celebrated javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra, has embarked on a new chapter in his life by marrying tennis player Himani Mor. The intimate ceremony, held a few days ago, was shared with fans through Chopra's social media, where he expressed gratitude for the blessings that led them to this moment and their commitment to a lifetime of love together.
Himani Mor, 25, hails from Sonipat, Haryana, and has an impressive academic and athletic background. She completed her schooling at Little Angels School in Panipat and earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Physical Education from Delhi University's Miranda House. An accomplished tennis player, Mor achieved career-best national rankings of 42 in singles and 27 in doubles in 2018, a remarkable feat considering she began participating in All India Tennis Association events that same year.
Furthering her education in the United States, Mor pursued a degree in Sports Management from Southeastern Louisiana University, followed by dual MBA degrees in Sports and Fitness Administration/Management and Human Resource Management from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. Currently, she is advancing her studies with a Master of Science from the McCormack Isenberg School of Management in Massachusetts, while serving as a Graduate Assistant at Amherst College.
Neeraj Chopra, 27, originally from Khandra near Panipat in Haryana, is India's most decorated javelin thrower. He made history by winning a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and a silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics, becoming the first Asian to achieve Olympic gold in javelin. Additionally, he secured a World Championship gold in 2023 and has maintained a streak of podium finishes in 24 consecutive competitions since 2020. Chopra also holds the junior javelin world record set in 2016 and is India's youngest individual Olympic gold medalist.
The couple's union has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from fans and the sports community alike. Chopra's uncle, Bhim, shared that the wedding took place in India and that the couple has since departed for their honeymoon. He emphasized the family's desire to keep the details private, requesting that the media and fans respect their privacy during this personal time.
As Neeraj Chopra continues his athletic pursuits, he is currently training under the guidance of javelin legend Jan Zelezny of the Czech Republic. The sports fraternity and fans across the nation extend their best wishes to Neeraj and Himani as they embark on this new journey together.
