Saif Ali Khan, a renowned Bollywood actor, was attacked in his Mumbai residence on January 16, 2025. The incident occurred in the early hours when Khan, 54, heard a disturbance involving an intruder and his domestic staff. Upon investigating, he was stabbed multiple times, with one wound dangerously close to his spine. He was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is now reported to be out of danger.
The assailant attempted to enter the bedroom of Khan's young son, Jeh. Khan's son from his first marriage, Ibrahim Ali Khan, 23, transported him to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw due to the unavailability of a suitable car. Doctors removed a 2.5-inch piece of the knife from his spine, and he is currently recovering.
Police are investigating the possibility of collusion between the intruder and Khan’s staff, as CCTV footage showed no new entries before the attack. Three individuals have been detained for questioning. The incident has raised concerns about the security of celebrities in Mumbai.
