Sarah Sherman, renowned for her unique comedic style on "Saturday Night Live," has ventured into daytime television with a guest role on the long-running soap opera "General Hospital." In her two-episode appearance, Sherman portrays Ms. Finch, an etiquette instructor and dialect coach for Lois Cerullo, a character played by Rena Sofer.
Sherman, a self-proclaimed fan of "General Hospital," expressed her excitement about the opportunity. She shared, "I had the best time of my life and couldn't believe I got to act in a scene with Tracy Quartermaine!" She also mentioned her nervousness about performing alongside seasoned actors, stating, "I was so nervous about flubbing my lines, because I was surrounded by pros who memorize like a billion pages of dialogue a day." Additionally, Sherman had the chance to meet Maurice Benard, who portrays Sonny Corinthos, remarking, "I met Sonny Corinthos, so I can die happy!"
In her guest role, Ms. Finch offers a critique of Olivia's pronunciation of "croissant," leading to a humorous exchange. She observes, "It's the 'ah' in her 'croissant.' The closer to Bath Beach, the more nasal the tone."
Sherman's appearance on "General Hospital" adds to her diverse acting portfolio, which includes roles in films such as "Jackass Forever" (2022) and "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah" (2023), as well as voice acting in the animated film "Nimona" (2023). She has also been involved in video game projects, including downloadable content for "High on Life" (2022).
