The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a series of reforms aimed at improving the spiritual experience for devotees at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.
Key Initiatives:
Enhanced Prasadam Quality: In response to recent concerns over the purity of the famed Tirupati laddus, the TTD has decided to procure superior-quality ghee for their preparation. An expert committee will oversee the selection of ghee suppliers, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards.
Queue Management Improvements: To reduce waiting times for devotees, the TTD plans to implement advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to streamline the darshan process. The goal is to decrease the average waiting period from over 12 hours to approximately three hours.
Staff Policy Updates: The board has resolved to transfer non-Hindu employees to other government departments or offer them voluntary retirement. This decision aligns with the TTD's commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the temple environment.
Ban on Political Activities: To preserve the spiritual atmosphere, the TTD has imposed a ban on political discussions and speeches within the temple premises. Violations of this policy will result in legal action.
Financial Security Measures: The TTD has decided to transfer all its deposits from private banks to nationalized banks to enhance the security of its funds.
Local Devotee Engagement: Special darshan sessions will be organized for residents of Tirupati on the first Tuesday of every month, fostering a stronger connection with the local community.
These initiatives reflect the TTD's dedication to upholding the temple's sanctity and enhancing the overall experience for devotees.
